Athletic HOF induction Feb. 9

The Cloverleaf Athletic Hall of Fame will hold its annual induction ceremony at 6 p.m. on Feb. 9 at the Blair Center, 9079 LeRoy Road, Westfield Center. Ticket prices are $25 each. This year’s inductees:

Catie Coleman Miglietti
Class of 2004
In cross country, Catie was a three-time Suburban League MVP and a three-time All-Ohioan. Her time of 19:34 ranks sixth all-time at Cloverleaf. She holds the school record in the steeplechase. Her 3,200-meter time is fourth all-time and her 1,600-meter best ranks fifth all-time at Cloverleaf. She went on to run cross country at Ohio Wesleyan University. 

Jaclyn Funk Raub
Class of 1996
In 1996, Jaclyn was named Medina County Female Athlete of the Year in soccer, basketball and track. In her senior season, she earned All-Ohio, Division I First Team All-District in soccer. Her 21 goals and 24 assists were the most in Medina County that year and was a school record. In 1992, she played on the boys JV soccer team, as Cloverleaf had yet to field a girls soccer team.  Jaclyn played college soccer at Ashland University, where she was a four-year letter-winner and captain her senior year. She currently is a teacher at Highland Middle School.

Marty Ryan
Coach
A longtime shot and discus coach at Cloverleaf. Marty coached several throwers to the state track meet including three-time state champion Cory Carlson. Also served as head boys basketball coach, freshman boys basketball coach, as well as freshman and middle school football coach. A Cloverleaf High School science teacher, Marty served as athletic faculty manager for many years.

Miguel Viera
Class of 1994 
Miguel was a member of the 1992 Cloverleaf High School football team that finished the season 9-1. He earned All-Ohio in football in 1992. Miguel was also First Team Pioneer Conference, Medina County and Plain Dealer. Led the team in tackles his junior and senior years. Played college football for two years at Kentucky before transferring to Rhode Island, where he went on to be an NCAA Division I-AA All-American. 

Dave Ward
Coach
Dave served as a longtime teacher and coach at Cloverleaf, coaching from 1985 until his retirement in 2008. He served as Cloverleaf athletic director for the 1989-90 school year. Dave was the head coach for boys middle school football for four years as well as head coach for middle school track. He also served as the middle school athletic faculty manager for many years. Dave was a longtime assistant football coach at Cloverleaf High School, serving on the 1992 9-1 team, as well as on the 2008 team that went to the OHSAA D-II playoffs.
