What Are Special Services?

Special Services refers to a variety of programs and supports designed to assist students in their efforts to make progress in the general education environment. Some typical examples include speech therapy, identification of disabilities, and special education instruction.

Who Is Eligible?

Typically, only students who have been identified as having a "disability" are eligible to receive special education support, but special services also includes students who are "gifted" and those needing intervention assistance due to behavior or academic struggles.

Special Education

Special education means specifically designed instruction, at no cost to the parents, to meet the unique needs of a child with a disability. Specifically designed instruction means adapting, as appropriate to the needs of an eligible child the content, methodology or delivery of instruction. Please click HERE to learn more.
